Student Food Co-Op Intern

The ASUW Student Food Co-Op is an ASUW entity that works to increase sustainability and equity in the food systems on and around campus, while building community through weekly meetings, recipe testing, hosting events, creating meaningful partnerships, and more!

Now we are hiring two interns to help the SFC out! Please take time and read the job description below and apply if you are interested! Both internships are unpaid.

Position 1: Event & Programming Intern

HOURS: 4-5 hours/ week

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1) Work with co-managers and the Co-Op to brainstorm and further develop planning
2) Support overseeing that necessary tasks are getting done to ensure successful events and programming
3) Help with week & day of operations and responsibilities of Humble Feast
4) Work with co-managers to brainstorm and further develop programming
5) Attend weekly Co-Op meetings and individual meetings with managers

SKILLS YOU WILL GAIN:
1) Gain excellent organizational and time-management skills
2) Improve leadership and initiating skills in identifying, finding solutions, and following through on a problem
3) Gain written and verbal communication skills
4) Gain the ability to plan, coordinate, and implement programs
5) Gain experience working in a co-operative model, furthering ability to make consensus based decisions

Position 2: Social Media & Outreach Intern

HOURS: 3-4 hours/ week

JOB DESCRIPTION:
1) Promote outreach material for events like Humble Feast and weekly meetings
2) Make reminder materials for weekly meetings and volunteer opportunities
3) Give input on web design (big goal for SFC for this year is to improve our website)
4) Work with co-managers and Office of Communications to come up with ideas for posters for larger events like Humble Feast or the UW Food Pantry Drive
5) Spread the word about ASUW SFC to a larger group of students, and help increase visibility
6) Opportunity to work with other groups & entities on campus to see how the ASUW SFC can promote their resources to students
7) Attend weekly Co-Op meetings and individual meetings with managers

PREFERRED SKILLS:
Experience using Illustrator, InDesign or Canva

SKILLS YOU WILL GAIN:
1) Applying creative direction into a tangible and valuable product
2) Gain written and visual communication skills
3) Gain experience in identifying potential, creating new, and strengthening existing partnerships
4) Gain experience working in a co-operative model, furthering ability to make consensus based decisions
