Seattle Art Museum – Frances Blakemore & Griffith Way Internship

Seattle Art Museum is now accepting applications for a Frances Blakemore & Griffith Way Internship during the Winter 2023 academic quarter. This internship will focus primarily on exhibit rotations at Seattle Asian Art Museum and on research for a recent bequest of Japanese and Korean artworks.

The Frances Blakemore & Griffith Way Internship program offers an outstanding opportunity for students of Asian art, culture, and history to work at a top ranked Asian art museum. Under the mentorship of SAM’s Asian art curators, interns will gain intimate knowledge about the day-to-day responsibilities of a curator, enhance their knowledge of Chinese, Japanese, and Korean art, and gain professional research experience in an area directly related to their studies.

While this opportunity has also been posted to the UW Handshake site, we request that all candidates apply directly through SAM’s Careers page (linked above) or by completing the attached form and submitting directly to internships@seattleartmuseum.org with their name in the Subject line.

Graduate students in East Asian Studies and Art History are preferred, though we will also consider students in other degree programs who have a strong, demonstrated interest in Chinese, Japanese, or Korean Studies.
