SLS is looking for a summer volunteer intern to assist in developing the SLS annual report, highlighting our yearly accomplishments and the services we provide. In this in-person position, you will have the opportunity to develop valuable interpersonal and office management skills and learn how to distill information visually.
SLS is seeking artistic candidates who are resourceful, reliable, creative, and professional. As the summer volunteer intern, you will have the creative freedom to shape this project where a passion for graphic design is required and experience with using Canva is favored. This is an opportunity to get featured and create a report that will allow SLS to keep serving underrepresented students at the University of Washington Seattle, Bothell, and Tacoma campuses.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Priority to create the 2023–2024 SLS Annual Report
- Working with various platforms (Canva, Flipsnack, Adobe, etc)
- Gathering pictures and designs for the report
- Learning how to present legal software data visually
- Writing descriptions and stories of our office
- Maintaining client confidentiality while doing so
- Organizing a summarized report of SLS accomplishments
Supervision
In this in-person role, you will work 5 hours a week under the supervision of our SLS Legal Assistant and SLS Director/ Attorney. During mandatory weekly check-in meetings, the summer volunteer will meet with our Legal Assistant and Director/Attorney to discuss progress and share drafts.
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled undergrad student at the University of Washington
- Passion and experience in Graphic Design
- Familiarity with Adobe Software
