The Northwest Watercolor Foundation is the nonprofit arm of the Northwest Watercolor Society. One of the Foundation’s purposes is to support emerging young visual artists by providing financial awards to committed, deserving students.
Established in the early 1990’s, the NWWF Scholarship has been presented annually to an outstanding and promising art student. This year the amount given will be $3,500.
Full time undergraduate art majors (including college seniors who will graduate in 2026) who are enrolled in an accredited community college or university in Washington, Oregon or Idaho and working in a variety of two-dimensional media are eligible for the Foundation’s annual Scholarship Award.
Students are required to submit, through our website, an application, five examples of their best work in any 2-D media (other than photography or computer generated art), a descriptive list of images submitted, a photo of themselves, an artist’s statement and a short biography. In addition, a faculty member must upload a signed letter of recommendation for the applicant to the NWWF Scholarship page of the NWWS website.
Our online application form can be found (as a button) on our website by clicking: NWWF Scholarship and Barbara Pitts Award Application
ALL APPLICATION DOCUMENTS MUST BE RECEIVED BY MARCH 30, 2026.
