Eastside Pottery seeking Ceramics Instructor

Compensation:
$25.50 – $37.00 per hour
raises based on time with the company and performance

Bellevue, with occasional support at our other studio locations

Availability:
Sunday – Thursday.

24hr Pottery is a growing network of ceramic studios with five locations across the Greater Seattle area. We offer 24/7 studio access to adult members and provide a variety of workshops for beginner to intermediate potters.

Position Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Ceramic Instructor to join our Eastside team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled potter who enjoys teaching and wants to be part of a growing creative community.

The instructor will lead four workshops each week and host our weekly open studio. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include processing student work, operating kilns, and supporting general studio tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach wheel throwing and/or hand-building techniques
  • Adapt instruction to support students at all experience levels
  • Process and assist with firing student work (training provided)
  • Follow existing lesson plans and contribute to improving workshop content
  • Host open studio weekly
  • Build positive relationships with students and fellow staff
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and inclusive studio environment
  • Assist with customer support and general studio operations as needed
  • Occasionally support workshops or duties at other studio locations

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in wheel throwing and/or hand-building techniques
  • Previous teaching experience required
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be a self-starter and team player
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely
  • Must pass a background check
  • Flexible availability to cover shifts as needed

Training Provided

  • New team members will shadow current staff for 1–2 weeks before leading workshops independently
  • Kiln operation and studio process training included
