I am a artist, designer and cultural worker who's work has focused on increasing visual literacy and building alliances within communities.

One public art project that demonstrates this is home land geography, which exhibited at the Kelowna Art Gallery, May of 1996. This community art projects' focus was to bring to attention the many meanings of "home" and the relations youths and seniors have to their community.

The exhibition involved the collection of 75 short stories and images of monuments (places of meaning) from seniors and children in Kelowna. The stories were mounted in light boxes across the gallery wall. The exhibition also included an afternoon of story telling by elders who had participated in the project.

Most recently, I have been a participant in the Open Studio Project. This project, sponsored by Seattle Art Museum (in partnership with the Seattle Public Library and West Seattle High School/ Technology Resource Institute) was a program to train artists to use the web as a site for new art forms and new approaches to making and exhibiting art.
