Susan Schuppli


Susan Schuppli is an artist, curator, writer and Assistant Professor who is currently teaching at the University of Lethbridge in Alberta, Canada. 

Her multi-media installation "Slow Pressure" was exhibited at the Contemporary Art Gallery in Vancouver. She recently participated in the group exhibition "Ideal Home" in Toronto and has also completed a new video "Double Vision" through Em Media in Calgary. 

She received her BA from Simon Fraser University, her MFA from the University of California San Diego and was a participant in the Whitney Museum Independent Study Program in New York. She was also the curator/director of the Or Gallery (artist-run-centre) in Vancouver from 1990-92. 

She has exhibited in group and solo shows in Canada, England and the USA and her writing has been published in "Chain", (SUNY Buffalo), "Boo" Magazine and in several artists’ catalogues. 

She has also presented papers at panel discussions including the Electronic Arts Festival in Vancouver and at the New York Law School cosponsored by Columbia University & New York University.  In addition, she has produced many public art projects in Vancouver, San Francisco, San Diego, Seattle and has just completed work on a public interest law project with the artist’s collective REPOhistory based in New York.
