How to use this site
Public/Greater University Community: UW Facilities makes certain maps available to the public. These maps include, among others, the location of bike racks, buildings and trees. Select the Public Maps navigation on the top toolbar (underneath the W) to view publicly available maps or click the Public Maps button below.
Public MapsUW Facilities makes GIS data available for download through the Washington State Geospatial Data Archive (WAGDA). If you are unable to find the data you are looking for in WAGDA please send an email to the UW Facilities GIS team and we may be able to assist.
WAGDAUW Staff: If you are part of a department that completed a GIS project with the UW Facilities GIS team you can access your maps through the Internal Maps navigation on the top toolbar or through the Internal Maps button below.

A Geographic Information System (GIS) lets us visualize, question, analyze, and interpret data to understand relationships, patterns, and trends.
GIS is widely used to optimize maintenance schedules and better inform decision makers by providing actionable spatial information. If you want to learn more about GIS, please use this link to go to the ESRI web page on the topic.
Why does UW Facilities use GIS?
With GIS, it is possible to develop spatial tools and applications that effectively support the core business activities of University of Washington Facilities through high quality spatial data and integration with other business systems.
