Q: What is the best part of your current job?
YT: Managing quantitative equity funds, trading, research and development of new strategies, and working with a great team of researchers and project managers.

Q: How did your time in the CFRM program help you with your career path?
YT: CFRM played an instrumental role in my career. The program provided solid mathematical, statistical, and finance foundations. In addition, I got in-depth training, which I used extensively for a few years in my first job. I also landed my first job in the quant industry through our career program and the alumni network.

Q: What was your most memorable event or activity during your time in the program?
YT: My one-on-one meetings with the former director Doug Martin, and program manager Bill Anderson. I still remember the afternoons I spent in their offices – sharing my struggles and challenges, and the advice and inspirational words I received from them.

Q: What advice would you give incoming CFRM students?
YT: Do your best in every course, you never know where it will lead. Get industry exposure as much as you can. Find what interests you and try to make the most of your internship opportunities.

Q: What are your favorite memories of Seattle?
YT: Seattle is a beautiful city, and my dorm at Mercer Court on campus had a majestic view of Mt. Rainier and Union Bay. There are lots of beautiful memories in Seattle: Union Bay kayaking, mountain hikes, and hotpot in the dorm with friends.
