In addition to these user's guides, our staff provides consulting and training on DMC instruments, imaging systems and software. Training by DMC staff is a prerequisite for access to any microscope or workstation in the DMC. DMC staff also provides training for imaging systems in investigators own laboratories. Tutorials in principles and techniques of microscopy or image analysis are also available.

The FV-1000 confocal is connected to an Apple iMac server reserved for short-term storage and processing of confocal images. There is also a server available to all users for file transfer and queuing files for processing. Personal portable media for USB and Firewire (IEEE-1394) may be used with the iMac for file transfer or you may transfer files over UW networks. Please avoid connecting personal media to the FV-1000 or connecting to any outside networks or websites. Malware and malicious browser cookies, as well as viruses, will cause problems with with the Fluoview software. All computers are equipped with the ability to write to CD and DVD, including the FV-1000
