Cost issues |
|
Costs associated with
Solar Aquatics vary greatly from one town to another. Issues such
as how much time is spent in the planning process and getting permits
approved all the way to construction give varying numbers. It is also
important which country the work is being done in. Unfortunately there
have not been many Solar Aquatic plants in the United States from
which to draw data. A plant working at full efficiency should cost
around the same as a traditional wastewater treatment facility. The
best figures on prices come from the aforementioned case study in
Annapolis County, Nova Scotia. The cost of setting up the plant was
around $350,000. Its net capital cost was $4500. Once the plant goes
to its full potential the net cost is predicted to go down to $1350. |
