INSTRUCTIONS FOR PORTFOLIOS

Click on the link below to access the Portfolio Templates. This Portfolio tool was created and is maintained by Catalyst at the University of Washington. Note: This link cannot be used to view portfolios. It can only be used to add content to existing portfolios.


Portfolio Template

NOTE: Access to this program is limited to users from the University of Washington.

Accessing Portfolio:
  • Use your UWNetID and Password
  • If you have not used Portfolio before, select the default location.
Creating Your Entry:
  • Click on portfolio page for each assignment and you will see a question and a space for your answer
  • Click "Save" as you write
  • Click "Finished" when you are done.
Adding an Artifact
  • Click "Attach Artifact."
  • Under "Artifact Types," select the type of artifact you wish to add.
  • Browse for a file on your computer, enter a URL, or insert text.
  • Under "Artifact Title," give your artifact a unique title.
  • Under "Artifact Location," select "My Artifacts." 
  • Click "Create Artifact."
OR
  • To add an existing artifact to your page, highlight the artifact and select "Attach Artifact."
Submitting your Work:
  • Click on the button that allows you to "Submit to Cara Lane for Review"
Publishing your Portfolio:
  • Click on "Configure Web Publishing" option on the right hand side of the Portfolio Screen. 
  • Select "Enable Web Publishing"
  • Add information to complete the URL (such as your name)
  • Under the "Web Publishing Security" heading select either "No View Retrictions" or "Restrict to anyone with a UWNetID"
  • Under the "Do you want to solicit feedback from others?" heading select "yes"
  • Under the "Display published artifacts as:" select "Thumbnails"
  • Send the url to Cara Lane at cgiacomi@u.washington.edu so she can link it to the program web site.
