His current research focuses on fire ecology, rare species management, restoration, biogeography, and conservation biology.

Sonia Hall Sonia is a Principal Investigator on the project. She is the Arid Lands Ecologist with The Nature Conservancy. Her current focus is eastern Washington ecosystems, particularly shrub steppe. She works with program staff to maximize the lessons learned from stewardship and restoration actions, and collaborates with university and agency researchers to address key knowledge gaps important for effective conservation of these systems.
