The prices range from 8-10 Euro for a first course and water to drink. Second courses were more expensive, running from 13-15 euro. Everyone in our party ordered first courses, all pasta, with water.

  Time of Visit

We ate there after our class visit to the Coliseum on Sunday, August 31. We were there from 7:15 until about 8:15.

  Description

It’s a small outdoor café on a rather busy street. The atmosphere is casual. I would imagine times of mild traffic are the best to visit given the café\s close proximity to a rather busy street. At the time we were there it wasn’t very crowded and the traffic wasn’t bothersome. The name of the establishment is difficult to see; one might first notice the gigantic “Bar” sign above the door. There are also multiple signs for gelato. Withot the obvious outdoor seating area, it would be hard to recognize as a sit down café. The tablecloths were gold and the seating area was surrounded by shrubs and plants, as many outdoor seating areas around here are. The man who was smoking next to us was rather annoying, but I can't blame that on the establishment.

  Menu

I ate Gnocchi ai Quattro Formaggi(four cheese gnocchi).

  Review

The service was good but not outstanding. Overall the food was decent, but nothing to rave about. The dish I ordered was too heavy. Although I was pretty hungry, I could only eat half of my pasta. The outside of the shells had a small amount of heavy sauce with any substance (the other Gnocchi I’ve seen has at least a thin sauce on the outside- I must be honest- I haven’t tried Gnocchi anywhere else so I really don’t have any basis for comparison. It could be a problem with the dish overall and not the restaurant). The pasta was a little overcooked and the cheese inside lacked flavor. The freshly grated cheese on top was the highlight of the dish.
Jenny and Stephanie, who ate Cantilone and Lasagna, both enjoyed their food. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing.
