My boyfriend found an Italian exchange student in the U.S. to write me an email using as much Italian slang as she could think of so I would have a hard time translating it. I used AltaVista’s translation service, and I was pretty confused when it came up with "to me it lacks a bag" (among other things that don't quite translate litterally). The AltaVista translation was a source of much amusement to many of us until Sabrina helped us translate what it really meant. It is fun in English to replace the words "a bunch" with "a bag", i.e. "We had a bag of fun", or "I got a bag of gelato at Alberto Pica", etc.
