5 stars!!!!

  Price Range

The smallest cone at Alberto Pica is 1.30 Euros, and the smallest cup is 1.60 Euros. This is comparable to many other gelaterias in the area, but the quality of the gelato is far superior. One can also purchase larger containers of gelato to take home, although I don't reccomend trying to take gelato home to the US, although it would be really nice.

  Time of Visit

I think it is safe to say that I visited Alberto Pica just about every other day, for almost the entire month of September 2004. Any time of the day is a good time for gelato.

  Description

Alberto Pica is run by an older couple, who may or may not give you keychains if you're nice to them. I reccomend learning a few cheesy expressions to say how good something is, just to give them a kick, even though they've probably heard it a million times how fabulous their gelato is. The seating outside is great, especially on a hot day because there is plenty of shade, and there are many friendly people to talk to in this area of town.

  Menu

I think I have tried just about all of their flavors, but it is essential to go to Alberto Pica often, as they have a "new" flavor that is changed occasionally. If you're lucky they might me making "Orzo", which is coffee with oatmeal. Another is "Ricotta e Amarena", which is Ricotta cheese and cherries, yum! My all time favorite, though, is "Riso e Cannella", or rice and cinnamon. Oh my is this flavor amazing. It tastes just like rice pudding, only somehow better, a must try!

  Review

There are no items that I would not reccomend. Be adventurous, we tried "Pinolata", which is pine nut flavor, and it was absolutely amazing. We had to overcome the fear of having pine nut gelato, though, so be strong and let your taste buds do the judging, you'll be amazed at some of the flavors this gelateria invents. Buon Appetite!
