Finding my journal
The Journal 1 of 1

  Assignment

Buying a journal has been quite an adventure for me this trip. I had brought a journal from Seattle. It was a journal that my best friend from Spokane had given me before I moved away to Bothell. She gave it to me to write my memories in. That was four years ago. I had never used it. When I was packing for Rome, I realized I had another chance to use the journal with its original purpose. The journal was given to me to store my memories when I was far away. Studying abroad in Rome would fit that exact description. I thought it was nice that this journal was in the end fulfilling the purpose given to it.

Although my first plan was to use this journal, I soon found out that it was too small and would not be able to fit everything I wanted to say. On my quest to find a journal, I walked at first in a lost phase to search for the shops Lisa recommended with a few others but did not find the places. After much frustration a friend showed me the place but seeing these journals, nothing screamed out at me. They were either very expensive or very bad quality. I wanted to find something that I would want to put my memories in. Finally, I decided to wander by myself and that is when I found the store and found the book. It is just a bound blue sketch book that is simple, exactly what I was looking for. As I entered the store, I said a soft buonogiorno and wandered around the store. The store was closing for siesta but the store person allowed me to buy the book, giving my change and giving me a nod and a prego.
