  Rating

Five stars. (although, I've not been to enough gelaterias to KNOW that this deserves five starts. However, considering location, price, and selection, I'd say that if it's not worth five stars, then it's pretty close!)

  Price Range

Cheap! EUR 1.80 for the smallest cup, which is plenty of gelato. More than one scoop for the same price is possible.

  Time of Visit

31/8/03 @ 20:30.

  Description

Della Palma is a rectangular building with almost two walls full of gelato. There is seating outside and inside. The dining is casual. I recommend coming at night when everyone is out, the gelateria is at its fullest, and nearby piazzas are just beginning to get started. Don't forget to pay first, as with all gelaterias. The types of gelato are also sectioned off-- the mousse is by the door, soy gelato at the far end, regular in the middle.

  Menu

I had the chocolate mousse in the smallest cup (EUR 1.80)-- the mousse gelato appears to be a mix of gelato with whipped cream. I also sampled the tiramisu and limone mousse.

  Review

The gelato was delicious, but (as previously stated) I've not been to enough gelaterias to really KNOW if this gelato was extraordinary. The service was quick but small (as in, two people to feed the raging crowd). I (of course) recommend the chocolate gelato over the fruit because-- c'mon!-- if you're going to do gelato, at least do it correctly!
