Location and Hours |
The Osteria is located on the corner of the Piazza Farnese, at 103 Vicolo del Gallo. This is the northern street that connects the Campo dei Fiori tot he Piazza Farnese. It is not open for dinner until 7, but has lunch hours. Also it was not open on Sundays, but maybe that ended in August.

Price Range |
For a full Italian meal with all the courses and wine, it would not cost more than 30 euro per person. It has the standard prices in Rome with almost all dishes costing about 10 euro, although this had a few that were less than average, as well as a good view of the Piazza Farnese. I am sure that one could get a good lunch for less than 10 euro

Description |
This is a lovely little establishment, as far as I can tell there is only outside seating available. The owner can be seen strolling nearby or sitting at a table during the day and evening. It is quite a casual place, with a lot of leniency given to tourists. The waiters are very amusing and the people and location make it worth visiting.

Menu |
I ate gnocchi di patate, previously purported by Bill "Don't mess with Texas" Guion as being the best gnocchi in Roma. It was not. The food is better than I would expect at such a location--with all the tourists they must get--but not memorable. My gnocchi was 7,50 euro, one of the more economico dishes.

Review |
The food is better than average, but not amazing. The service is good, and very entertaining. None of the food was bad, just forgettable.
