Christ is placed like a youth, hiding behind the tree. His head is faced away, his body clung to the cross. Moses is strong, but his placement is awkward. His hands are unsure; one is placed near his chest, ready to twirl his beard, the other near his abdomen. He too is looking away, and reminds me a lot of Poseidon, with his overflowing beard and hair, strong legs. I suppose Moses and Poseidon can be symbolically linked, for the two of them have strong associations with water, and once lived in it. Christ is beautiful, much like what one expects from the David. He is older, yet still young. His facial hair and hair tells that he is well groomed, and his facial expression is one of concern. Moses is one stern intent. I’m not sure if the two can be compared, both artistically and within character. Moses is strong, but a man. Christ, is uncloaked (other than his cover up), but is positioned with immortality.
