Pizza a Taglio

  Name

Pizza a Taglio

  Location and Hours

This pizza house is located on Via Del Pellegrino, just off the Campo di Fiori, on the left side of the street (just look for the sign). The hours are not posted, but from a few visits to this establishment, I have pieced together tenative hours of mid-morning to late evening...around eight or nine p.m.

  Rating

I would have to rate this pizza place 3 1/2 stars. It is one of the better tasting pizza's I have had here in Rome, but the lack of adequate seating, and sometimes rude service forces a lower rating. As far as quality of pizza, however, it is at least a four star establishment.

  Price Range

For a couple decent sized slices of pizza and an over priced beverage...one could expect to pay five to seven Euros to fill up at Pizza a Taglio. My advice is to bring your own beverage and spend that hard earned cash on more pizza. Priced by weight.

  Time of Visit

A few classmates and I ate lunch here after class on the 30th of August...around noon or so. Surprisingly, we were the only ones in the restaurant, and seating was not a problem. On another visit...late one afternoon...the place was packed, and sitting at a table was not an option.

  Description

Very casual pizza place, with many good different pizzas to satisfy any taste. However, the establishment is very small, with only two tables and two outside seating benches, so if there is any sort of a crowd, one must opt for pizza on the go. I have found late morning, early afternoon is the best time to eat, since the place is usually not filled with people. Pizza is sliced and priced by weight...so pick what you want and point well. The staff does not speak English. REMEMBER...piccolo means small and grande means big. This should help with the ordering process.

  Menu

A slice of Funghi (mushroom) pizza and a couple slices of fresh tomato with mozzarela.

  Review

The mushroom pizza is real good...has a home made cream sauce which I would definately recommend. If mushrooms are not your taste though, their traditional pizza options are also superb. The food quality is real good, but servers get a little frustrated and rude if you disrupt their natural flow of slicing pizza pies.
