Irene Inwani, MBChB, MMed, MPH, is a consultant pediatrician at the Kenyatta National referral hospital and a member of the Nairobi HIV research group. She earned her MPH in Epidemiology at the University of Washington in 2006. Her area of interest is prevention of mother-to-child transmission of HIV and treatment of HIV-infected children. She has been involved in 2 studies:  “Optimizing Pediatric HIV Therapy” looking at early treatment of HIV infected children under the leadership of Grace-John Stewart and “ Reproductive Health Decisions and HIV infection Risk” a community based cohort study in Western Kenya.
