Dr. Elizabeth Obimbo, MBChB, MMed, MPH, is professor and chairperson of the Department of Paediatrics and Child Health at the University of Nairobi and a consultant paediatrician at Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya. Her background is in paediatrics and child health and epidemiology, with extensive clinical experience in preventive, promotive and curative aspects of the field. She has a special interest and training in paediatric respiratory disease and HIV.  As a faculty member with the University of Nairobi (UON) Department of Paediatrics and Child Health for the last 16 years, she has participated in designing and conducting clinical research on infectious diseases and respiratory disease in children, in collaboration with local and international researchers. Dr. Obimbo holds a MBChB from the University of Nairobi, an MMed in Paediatrics from the University of Nairobi, an MPH in Epidemiology from the University of Washington, and a CPulm in Paediatric Pulmonology from the University of Capetown.
