Dr. Susan M. Graham, MD, MPH, PhD, works on research projects at several sites in Kenya, including the University of Washington (UW)/University of Nairobi (UON) HIV/STD Research Site in Mombasa, the Nyanza Reproductive Health Society Anza Mapema clinic in Kisumu, and the SWOP City Clinic in Nairobi. Dr. Graham’s research focuses on human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) and sexually transmitted infection (STI) epidemiology, prevention and care in vulnerable populations including female sex workers and gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men. Dr. Graham also has a long-standing interest in mental health, stigma, and behavioral interventions to improve HIV prevention and care outcomes. Dr. Graham is the Director of the UW Behavioral Research Center for HIV (BIRCH), a consultant to the University of Washington’s Center for AIDS Research (CFAR) and a long-standing member of the Kenya Research and Training Center (KRTC).
