Since 1970 Group Health Cooperative in Seattle has done more to promote the use of physician assistants in an urban setting than any other healthcare organization in the US. This short video examines the early history of the relationship between MEDEX Northwest and Group Health when 3 unproven “medex” from class 1 were brought into Group Health. This was not without controversy at the time. In the end the cooperative came to a consensus and brought the three students into Group Health as employees, paving the way for the over 135 PAs currently working in the Group Health system. 15:08 minutes, color, HD format.
