Suggestions for Performance Issues

Due to recent events, many of you are working from home. If you are having performance problems, we have a few suggestions that might help:

  1. Contact your service provider and see what it would take to increase your bandwidth.
  2. If practical, consider connecting to your router with a patch cable instead of using the wireless. It’s generally faster and is not susceptible to interference from other sources.
  3. Consider upgrading your wireless router to a higher performance third party router. See PC Magazine’s recommendations.
  4. Online streaming uses a lot of bandwidth. Limit online streaming if it isn’t necessary.
  5. If there are other wireless users in your home, consider buying a second router for yourself.
  6. Consider using ZFP or even Statler if you don’t need to actually interpret studies and create reports. VDI is the best option in general, but if it gets bogged down, keep your other options in mind.
