An appliance such as this obviously is much more difficult to fabricate and place than a preformed distal shoe space maintainer. It also represents the absolute highest standard of customized care. Nevertheless, if the customized approach is not practical given all the circumstances, a preformed appliance certainly is better than no appliance. |
