Master Of Cooking Terms

CONCEPT: Food Experiences

BRIEF SUMMARY

Participants practice a variety of basic cooking activities and complete a worksheet about cooking terminology.

OBJECTIVES

After completing this activity, children will be able to:

Let's Practice!
Divide the children into two groups. Each group will have all the right tools and ingredients needed to demonstrate each procedure. One instructor will be with each group as they perform the procedures and will mark if they did it correctly or not.

Provide the children with a list of tasks to perform, such as:

  1. Weigh 50 grams of flour
  2. Measure 1 cup of water
  3. Stir the flour and water together
  4. Mix the flour and water
  5. Beat the flour and water
  6. Add 1/2 cup water to the mixture
