Architecture Brigades

“Reminder: Officer applications are due Wednesday 11/30/11 at 11pm.

Are you interested in international development or global health? Apply to the to build a healthcare clinic in Honduras this summer!

We will be working in the rural community of El Canton from June 12-19, 2012. The people in this community have to walk more than two hours away to the nearest healthcare clinic. Global Brigades has been working with the government to ensure the sustainability of the clinic. The program costs include airfare + $750 in-country fee that will cover transportation, lodging, and food during our stay. As a team from UW, we will be fundraising to cover our expenses so please do not let money be an issue. Prior to the trip, we will be meeting for a short period every week to talk about how to best approach our good intentions and make a meaningful impact in El Canton.

No prior experience in international development or global health is required. Students from ALL disciplines are encouraged to apply. Speaking Spanish is not mandatory, and translators will be provided during the brigade. As this is a new organization at UW, you will have the chance to shape it to your vision. If you would like to take on a leadership role, we encourage you to apply for an officer position. Please submit the application before Wednesday 11/30/11 at 11pm to be considered for an officer position. We will accept these on a rolling basis.
