AED Weekly Update

There will be no AED meeting this week – but that doesn’t mean there aren’t cool things going on on campus.

Bioethics Grand Rounds

Tomorrow Bioethics will be hosting a talk by Dr. Douglas Diekema on the relationship between the pharmaceutical industry and physicians. Dr. Diekema is a very famous local pediatric bioethicist, and helped make some very tough decisions at Seattle Children’s over the years. He’s a great speaker and it’s not something you want to miss if you can go. The talk is from 4-5 in HST-625.

Not sure you can find HST-625? Meet AED Webmaster Michelle Drews in the T-Wing Overpass Espresso by no later than 3:55pm and she’ll help you find your way.

Pre-Health Affair

The third annual biggest Pre-Health party of the year is happening THIS week! Come join AED at the Pre-Health affair and meet tons of other pre-health students on campus for two hours of social and carnival-y goodness. AED is hosting a pin the stethoscope on the doctor booth, and it’s going to be a BLAST! So definitely come if you can! Member points are up for grabs for attending as well!

Finally – although the event is FREE you will need to bring a hygiene item (ie: toothbrush, lip balm, hair ties, floss, etc.) for admittance. These items will be donated to the University District Youth Clinic which provides homeless, at risk, runaway, and/or street involved youth ages 13-22 the opportunity, tools and support in transitioning to improved living while creating a save, nurturing environment.

That’s all for now. Have a great week everyone!
