GLOBAL MEDICAL BRIGADE APPS OPEN!

Global Medical Brigades is a student-run organization of dedicated UW students that travel with health professionals to Central America each summer. There, we create temporary clinics that provide free medical aid and health education in rural, underserved communities. The past two summers, the UW brigade has travelled to the small Panamanian community of Arimae. In the last weeks of summer 2013 we will return to Arimae, to continue to provide health care and build our relationship with the members of this wonderful community. This is a truly amazing experience and I encourage you to apply, especially if you are interested in public or global health, a career in medicine, Spanish, or international studies. The Catalyst web application for the Summer 2013 Brigade is now up, and will be due December 7th, 2012 by 11:45 pm. Please get your application in as soon as possible!

Although the current GMB UW website does not have a working catalyst link, the information in the “About Us” and “FAQ” sections are helpful if you would like to know more about GMB at UW. If you would like to know more about the Global Brigades organization, check out http://globalbrigades.org/ globalbrigades.org.

We look forward to receiving your application! Please feel free to send an email to gmbuw@u.washington.edu if you have questions or would like more information.
