A response to the Feb 24 article in the New York Times from AAVMC President Deborah Kochevar is now available on the AAVMC website. The response includes some recent good news about the employment rate for U.S. veterinary graduates six months after graduation, in significant contrast to the information provided in the article, which is based upon a pre-graduation survey. The response addresses other issues related to veterinary medical education, including student debt, employability, salaries, and the importance of interpreting numbers in context.
