Washington Global Health Alliance Discovery Series & Program in Education and Research in Latin America Present:

“Mesoamerica: Health Opportunities for a Neglected Region” Jaime Sepulveda, MD, MPH, DrSc, MSc

This WGHA Discovery Series lecture will be held in conjunction with the first annual Program for Education and Research in Latin American (PERLA) Symposium at the University of Washington, Department of Global Health. The PERLA half-day symposium will provide a forum for UW faculty and students, as well as health professionals, to discuss health-related research, service and training projects in Latin America, and foster multidisciplinary, interdepartmental, and international collaboration. The afternoon will begin at 1:30p with a series of panels. Dr. Jaime Sepulveda’s WGHA Discovery Series lecture will begin at 4 p.m. Dr. Sepulveda is a Senior Fellow and Director of Special Initiatives of the Global Health Program at the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.

Friday, April 29th, 2011 PERLA Panel Presentations: 1:30 p.m. – 3:45 p.m. WGHA Discovery Series Lecture by Jaime Sepulveda: 4 p.m. – 5 p.m. Reception and PERLA Poster Presentations: 5 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Location: Health Sciences Building (1959 NE Pacific Street), Room: T-625, University of Washington, Seattle Campus
