Healthy Lunches, Healthy Students

> Healthy Lunches, Healthy Students > > Hello! > > Health Equity Circle is an interdisciplinary group that uses community organizing as a tool for addressing social determinants of health at a systemic level. > > The Youth and Education group has just picked a topic of interest and is looking for people who have a passion in this area to help with the campaign. Healthy lunches, healthy students is a social justice issue that needs a lot of people power. So far we have the US department of Agriculture into it – This past year it made its first changes to school-lunch rules in 15 years – more fruits, veggies, and whole grains, less salt, and a maximum calorie count. Michelle Obama is into it as illustrated by her eating healthy campaign. We’re into it too! > > If you are interested in joining this movement toward evaluating, maintaining, and promoting healthy school lunches for the youth please join us at our next meeting: > > When: Sunday, March 10th, 7:00 PM > Where: Suzzallo Espresso > Why: We’re for the YOUTH > > Have Questions? Don’t hesitate to write! > > Tara and Oren > _______________________________________________ > Sswbasw mailing list > Sswbasw@u.washington.edu > http://mailman1.u.washington.edu/mailman/listinfo/sswbasw
