Volunteers Needed for Dream Project’s Admission Workshop Weekend

Calling ALL Potential Tutors of UW!

UW Dream Project is a community-based organization that aims to assist low-income and first-generation high school students in attaining higher education. We do this by going on weekly visits to support our mentees through the college application process, and through our upcoming event: Admission Workshop Weekend (AWW).

AWW is a two-day weekend getaway for high school students to visit UW’s campus, eat delicious food, and finish personal statements and college applications. In the past we’ve had an 80% success rate of students completing at least one application during the weekend, which is hugely impactful on a mentees life.

However, this fantastic weekend wouldn’t be possible without the help of skilled volunteers such as yourselves. We’re looking for tutors to support students through the process, whether that means helping out for four hours, or two days. Food and a fun time by all will be included, as well as a great resume-building opportunity. Of course, helping someone apply to college is pretty cool too.

The event will take place in Mary Gates Hall, Kane and parts of Sieg Hall over both Saturday and Sunday of the event.

If you’re able to donate a few hours of your time on the weekend of November 15th and 16th, please fill out the volunteer survey at this link.
