Info Session for Post-Bac Program and Brand-New Physician Assistant Program at Heritage University in Toppenish, WA

Magnus Altmayer from Heritage University will be at the UW to talk to students about the school’s new Physician Assistant and Master’s in Medical Sciences Programs. He will share information and tips on the application process, answer questions about program structure and goals, and talk about the partnership between Heritage and the osteopathic medical school in Yakima, Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU).

  •  The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) program, only the second in the state, is committed to preparing students to work in rural and underserved areas in the Pacific Northwest. Classes for the first 12 months of the PA program are held on campus at Heritage University in Toppenish, WA. During the second 12 months, students are placed in family medicine clinics throughout the Pacific Northwest. Applications for the 2016 cohort will open in April 2015.   •  The Heritage Master of Arts in Medical Sciences Program (MAMS) is a one-year, 36-credit master’s degree with classes held at both Heritage University and Pacific Northwest University of Health Sciences (PNWU) in Yakima. It is designed for students who plan to apply to professional schools and who need additional experience and preparation to strengthen their applications. 83% of program graduates have gained admission into a professional school, and graduates have entered a wide range of professional programs including medicine, dentistry, PA, podiatry and others.
