Pre-Health Conference Sponsored by MAPS and Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine

The Chicanos/Latinos for Community Medicine at UW (UW CCM) and UW Minority Association of Pre-Health Students (UW MAPS) are both collaborating to put on a pre-health conference for high school students and undergraduates on Saturday, February 7th titled:  Exploring the Value of Health Care.  Our conference’s goal is to empower students, especially those from underrepresented backgrounds in health sciences, to pursue their career interests in medicine/dentistry/nursing/pharmacy/etc.

ALL STUDENTS are welcome to attend our conference!

Our workshops/keynote speakers focus on topics such as diversity and education in medicine, culturally responsive care and the upstream social determinants of health that greatly affect our community.  By the end of the conference, we hope we that students will think critically about our theme of exploring the true value of being a health care provider and will strive to be open and culturally responsive professionals.

Expect awesome speeches, mock interviews, fun hands-on workshops, networking with health professionals and medical/dental/health professional students and much much more!

Tickets to attend the conference may be purchased from this link or at the door at the prices indicated (limited quantity):  http://www.brownpapertickets.com/event/1093040

(If you have a high school friend, they must still use the link to reserve a free ticket).
