Laboratory Education opportunity for Students with Disabilities

Do you identify with having a disability and feel that there’s a lack of opportunities for you to get involved in a laboratory? Have you always wanted to see what work goes on inside the laboratories of Fred Hutch?

Symbiosis Laboratory Education is a student-run program which provides college freshmen with disabilities access to cutting-edge research knowledge and laboratory techniques in molecular biology using the Fred Hutch’s training space. We are currently in the process of looking for individuals who wish to shape our program and work with us to help them get the most out of this experience.

The structure of this program consists of one session every week for two hours. In these two hours, the team will teach different fundamentals of biology, share current cutting-edge research, and provide hands-on laboratory training. There will be guest lectures from Principal Investigators at Fred Hutch who wish to share their research.
