Hi there! My name is Emily. I am a born and raised Washingtonian, as well as a Freshman here at the University of Washington. My love for astronomy has been strong and ever-flourishing ever since I got my first look up at the night sky. I remember as a little girl, begging my Dad to buy me this enormous book about galaxies at Barnes and Noble, despite the fact that I hardly knew how to read yet. I also remember asking for a telescope from santa rather than a Barbie Dream House when I was 8, so obviously I had my priorities straight early on. However, as I have now (hopefully) learned how to read, my passion for the peculiar nature of the observable universe has only grown, and UW had plenty of ways for me to apply that passion so here I am! I am planning on majoring in physics, but I may end up double majoring in Physics and Astronomy! While my schedule is usually jam packed, I always find myself making time to go on adventures with friends and family, whether those adventures simply take me to the nearest Target store, or have me end up in Canada on a suspension bridge.
