This 70 year old female underwent emergency sigmoid resection and colostomy

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
7.) If an initial fluid challenge results in only slight increase in output, what should be done next?

If the patient is still oliguric, further steps are needed to diagnose the cause. Those with complicating and severe acute and chronic medical problems require more extensive evaluation to determine cause of oliguria and guide appropriate treatment.
