This 70 year old female underwent emergency sigmoid resection and colostomy

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
8.) What less common causes of oliguria should now be considered?

In this patient injury to one or both ureters may have occurred. Sepsis may be presenting as oliguria. Underlying heart disease with decreased cardiac output may be contributing. Drugs may have caused renal injury.
