9.) What is the best way to evaluate the patient for distant metastases?

Evaluation for distant metastases:

  1. History of bone pain, neurologic symptoms, and new skin lesions

  2. PET scan to evaluate liver, adrenals, and bone

  3. MRI of brain only if clinically suspicious for metatstatic disease
