3.) How would you evaluate the hepatic nodularity in this patient?

Evaluation of the patient:




  • Laboratory: liver function tests (increased alkaline phosphatase and AST); alpha-fetoprotein (normal); carcinoembryonic antigen (tumor marker for colon cancer)

  • CT scan with selective arterial infusion via the hepatic artery

  • MRI superior to CT arteriography or CT portography

  • Percutaneous biopsy guided by CT

  • PET Scan to look for extrahepatic disease
