Case #1 -
A 34 year old shot in the L upper chest

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
7.) What diagnostic workup is needed?

Chest X-ray: pneumothorax, pulmonary contusion, widened mediastinum, abnormal aortic contour, tracheal shift, left apical cap, depression of left main stem bronchus.

CT Angiogram of the chest can define airway, digestive, and vascular injuries. Other studies are needed to plan surgery only if the CTA is positive.
