3.) How do you recognize a tension pneumothorax?

Tension pneumothorax may be recognized in a patient with respiratory distress associated with tracheal deviation away from affected side; decreased or absent breath sounds on the affected side; distended neck veins or systemic hypotension; or subcutaneous emphysema on affected side.
