  1. Be able to describe pertinent clinical history and physical exam features in the evaluation of diaphragmatic hernias and gastroesophageal reflux.
  2. Be able to describe the appropriate diagnostic workup.
  3. Be able to list measures in medical management for gastroesophageal reflux disease.
  4. Be able to discuss potential complications of GERD and indications for surgery.
  5. Be able to state the outcome and risks of operation.
