10.) What is the treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection?

Treatment for Helicobacter pylori infection:

  • Bismuth + metronidazole or tetracycline or amoxicillin for 2 weeks OR


  • Omeprazole (20 mg bid) + amoxicillin (1 gram bid) for 2 weeks - may add Metronidazole OR


  • Omeprazole + Clarithromycin (500 mg bid) + amoxicillin (1 gram bid) for 10 days
