A 28 year old with acute upper abdominal pain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
6.) How would you prepare the patient for surgery?

Preparation for surgery includes resuscitation with IV fluids, a Foley catheter to monitor output, and placement of a nasogastric tube. Informed consent for surgery should be obtained. Antibiotics should be given preoperatively.
