A 27 year old with months of RLQ pain

DISCUSSION QUESTIONS:
10.) What are the indications for surgical treatment?

Indications for operation include intractable disease, obstruction, fistula, abscess, perforation, and hemorrhage. The object of surgery is to treat the exacerbating problem with removal of as little bowel as possible. The recurrence rate after surgery is 10% per year.
