Case #4 - A 75 year old lady presents with jaundice

 
LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
  1. Be able to describe the usual clinical presentation (history and physical) of patients with pancreatic cancer.
  2. Be able to list the imaging studies that are useful in diagnosing pancreatic cancer and the specific value of each.
  3. Be able to discuss the differential diagnosis of obstructive jaundice and describe differentiating characteristics of each.
  4. Be able to describe the curative and palliative management alternatives for pancreatic cancer.
  5. Be able to diagram the extent of resection and required reconstruction in a Whipple procedure.
  6. Be able to discuss the prognosis of pancreatic cancer.
